Christmas Tree # 1

YEP! I am one of those crazy people that has Christmas on the brain all year long! Every year I add more trees and decorations to the house. This year we will have a total of five trees up. (My goal is to eventually have one in every room!)

The kids both have their own trees now, so they are included in the five. They will decorate theirs, and I will be decorating the other three.

I always start putting up the trees in November because I like to take my time decorating them, and if they are up earlier that means I get to enjoy them longer.

So, this weekend I got the first tree up. It is the cardinal/woodland themed tree.

(I really like the picture above. I am thinking I may need to make my Christmas cards with it one of these years!)

It has picks with "ice" on the ends, berries, pine cones, cardinals, and all kinds of things sticking out of it. It sits in the dining room.

I chose cardinals because they are one of my favorite outdoor birds! I love to see them in the winter time with their red feathers contrasting against the white snow. SO PRETTY!

I love the cardinals too - we have some glass ones, but they are a bit small. I think that photo would make a fantastic card - it looks like something out of a magazine.

I love that picture too! Your tree looks great! My mom has one of her many trees up already too-she likes to put them up early because they are a lot of work and she can enjoy them longer too.

We have quite a few cardinals in our yard right now. Guess it's that time of year, huh?

Kathy, thank you for posting your tree pics! Love the tree! It's beautiful. I used those same icy picks on the garland around DD's mirror but they were in blue instead of red. So pretty. The cardinals are perfect. Beautiful. What is the star at the top made of? ~~Rhonda :)

What a BEAUTIFUL idea for a tree!!! I just love it. And, YES, you should use that picture for your Christmas cards. I think that would be great!

We put up two trees every year. Our tall artificial one goes in our living room and it has all of our "fancy" decorations (glass, porcelain, etc.) We go get a live tree and put it in the den and it has the more "homesy" decorations.

I saw a smaller white tree at the store yesterday and drooled over it. I think I will go back and get it and make it a "retro" tree in our dining room.

Christmas will be here SOON!!! We bought our first gifts yesterday. Yay!!

I cant wait to pop in here all season and see your Christmas stuff!!

I absolutely love the cardinal! I have been searching for the perfect one for our Christmas tree this year. Do you happen to remember where you bought yours? :)

Hi Maria,

Thanks for stopping by!!
I believe I bought the cardinals at a store over on Flower Row, in St. Louis. I've also found some larger ones there.
Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the store. And, all of the stores are for businesses to purchase from. I had gone over with a friend that owns her own store.
Sorry, that I can't be of more help! :)
