Upside Down Tomato Planter!

Mr. Mister and I decided we wanted to try and grow our own tomatoes this year.

We were walking around in Sam's and saw this!

Isn't it COOL? Now, we don't have to worry about staking the tomatoes. Gravity does all the work for you. We also don't have to worry about them rotting while laying on the ground. Another plus is that you can plant herbs or even flowers on the top.

Easy peasy! HUH? We shall see!

So, my question to you is: What is your favorite kind of tomatoes to grow? Why do you prefer those?

Don't know what kind of tomatoes I prefer to grow but that thing is waaaay cooool!!! We're getting ready to start ours, the plants at the Rural King are a little small yet, but getting there. Probably this week sometime. Let me know how they turn out, in fact, I'll stop by sometime to sample them!!! Want any asparagus?! Starting to get loads of that right now!

Interesting...who comes up with these things? I might get one because I LOVE tomatoes, especially fresh out of the garden!

I usually plant Beefsteak tomatos. They grow quick and easy. I had one when I was single and in an apartment. It grew high enough to touch the upstairs balcony. I have pictures somewhere. The tomatos were huge and perfect. And it just kept producing more and more and more. =D Let me know how it goes with the upside down thing. It seems to me that it would put too much pressure on the plant, but I guess it is the new thing to do.

Thanks again for visiting my blog! Good to see you again.
